Popis výsledku v anglickém jazyce |
Fiber-metal laminates GLARE consist of thin aluminium alloy sheets alternated by cross-plied adhesive layers reinforced with high strength glass fibers. A special open-hole sheet specimen from this type of laminate was used to simulate the mixed type ofloading (cyclic tension and secondary bending). The notch region was observed in a microscope in order to detect the first fatigue crack initiation. The number of cycles to the crack initiation was measured and the crack growth rate in the surface layerof the laminate was evaluated. The specimens were subjected to the fatigue damage investigation in the inner layers of the laminate after the test termination. A significant effect of the secondary bending on the fatigue crack initiation and early crackgrowth was found. The experimental results were discussed in terms of local stress-strain conditions in the notch region evaluated by means of the finite element calculation. |
